Shanghai Metro

Currently, Metro Line 9 – also known as the Shensong Line – runs from Caolu to Songjiang South Railway Station in south-west Shanghai. With a total length of around 45 kilometres, thousands of passengers can board and alight at 35 stations along this metro line every day.

As part of a large-scale modernisation project for Shanghai Metro Line 9, Gilgen Door Systems supplied high-quality components for half-height platform doors. These were installed at 600 door openings and contribute significantly to passenger safety and optimisation of passenger flow.

Due to the success of this first project in China, Gilgen was also commissioned for further metro projects in Beijing and Guangzhou – with a total of over 1,000 door systems delivered.
